City Hall of Vila Nova de Famalicão, through Famalicão Made IN, is partner of the project "Knowledge Circle" promoted by the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria (IP Leiria) and the Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave (IPCA).
The integration in this network that aims to enhance the economic value of R&D (Research and Development) results and strengthen the transfer of scientific and technological knowledge to the business sector was unanimously approved at the executive meeting this Thursday, July 7.
The project brings together more than two dozen entities that support innovation in the North and Centre regions of the country, such as the Business Association of Minho, CITEVE, InvestBraga, Startup Leiria and the Business Association of the Western Region.
Supporting the evaluation of the technical and market potential of technology and obtaining funding for new phases of development; facilitating bilateral contacts with companies; supporting knowledge and technology transfer activities; supporting the creation of new companies and spin-off companies; analysing joint lines of work between the North and Centre regions for the economic valorisation of R&D results and for the transfer of knowledge and technology to industry are the main objectives of this support network, whose partners are committed to participating and collaborating in the dynamisation of the various activities foreseen in the project.
Among them is the organisation of a competition to award vouchers for pre-commercial validation services or prototype development for R&D projects; the organisation of an Industry Open Day, of experimentation actions and demonstrative pilot projects in companies, of open-access scientific seminars and technology licensing.
