Results of the ColorADD in Schools Programme. More than a thousand students were screened for colour blindness

In the school year 2020-2021, the "ColorADD in Schools Programme" reached more than a thousand students from all school groupings in the municipality of Vila Nova de Famalicão. The goal of the program was to reach all 3rd year students of the 1st cycle schools belonging to the 7 School Groupings: Pedome, Padre Benjamim Salgado, Ribeirão, Camilo Castelo Branco, D. Maria II, D. Sancho I and Gondifelos. The programme was therefore in 43 schools, with 55 classes and 1013 students.

This action was organised in partnership with the Town Hall of Vila Nova de Famalicão, Color Add Social and with the support of CEVE - Cooperativa Elétrica do Vale d'Este, which thus went through all the 3rd year classes of the municipality's schools.

This initiative had two teams that, simultaneously and in different schools, promoted the actions of the "ColorADD Programme in Schools", and promoted the realisation of color blindness and visual acuity screenings together with vision specialists, the six local opticians who were available to join each of the teams and ensure the realization of the screenings and respective data collection - Nova Óptica de Riba D'Ave, Grupótico Famalicão, Grupótico Riba D'Ave, Jorge Oculista, Jaime Oculista and Mais Óptica.
